I am honored to be a part of the proud history of Ft. Lauderdale Kiwanis, and to help carry on our legacy of serving the children of Ft. Lauderdale.
Members of Ft. Lauderdale Kiwanis founded Every Child A Swimmer in 1981, which has taught water safety and swimming to over 200,000 children in Broward County.
Our club sponsors the Key Club, a student directed organization at Stranahan High School, which is a medical studiesmagnet school in Ft. Lauderdale. Our scholarship fund has helped Stranahan High School Key Club members attend college at Columbia University, Georgia Tech, the University of Florida and Florida State University, among others.
We support a not-for-profit organization which owns and operates housing for the working poor in Ft. Lauderdale. Last year we sent a bus load of kids from that housing project on their dream trip to Disneyworld. For most of them it was their first trip to Disneyworld.
If you truly care about the needs of children and are willing to work alongside us to make our city a better place then I invite you to investigate the opportunity of becoming a member of Ft. Lauderdale Kiwanis.
Yours truly,
Charles Woldenberg President 2009-2010
